Children of today are tomorrow’s citizen, thus it is extremely important to ensure good health for children. Child health plays a vital role in the development of a country. India comprises almost 13.1 percent of child population aged 0-6 years hence it is very necessary to provide better healthcare facilities to them. India accounted for almost 43 percent underweight children against other developing countries. Nutritional level among the children is the basic element of their overall mental and physical development. Am privileged to be a pediatrician and the secretary general of IAP 2018 yet unhappy to see the countless underprivileged children in our society. We shall devote the highest priority to this sector. The rights of children must be taken seriously and their access to the best healthcare, food, and education is our motto. Government and IAP are working hand in hand to create a bright future for this nation. As a secretary general I shall pursue full implementation of this right and in particular, shall take appropriate measures. Various aptly designed IAP programs under the action plan will create an impact and improve the confidence level of pediatricians while treating various disease elements. Together we shall fight for a better tomorrow.
