Dear Esteemed Members of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics,

Warm greetings!

It is with profound honor, humility, and excitement that I begin my tenure as Secretary General of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics for 2026. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere gratitude to the outgoing Office Bearers and Executive Board members of 2025, under the inspiring leadership of President Dr. Vasant M. Khalatkar. Their unwavering dedication, visionary guidance, and tireless efforts have strengthened our Academy, elevated our standards of pediatric care, and positioned IAP as a respected and influential voice in global child health.

The year 2025 has been truly remarkable for IAP. We celebrated the success of 62nd PEDICON Hyderabad, numerous zonal and YUVA PEDICONs, and our active participation in international forums, including the 31st IPA Congress in Mexico and the 21st International Emergency Medicine Congress in Turkey. Eleven online fellowship and certificate courses were successfully conducted, we forged strategic MoUs with leading global pediatric institutions. These milestones are a testament to our collective vision, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence, demonstrating what we can achieve when we work as one unified family.

As I embark on this journey, I am inspired by the enormous potential that lies within our Academy. My vision for 2026 is rooted in unity, innovation, inclusivity, and empowerment. I am committed to creating an environment where IAP is a truly open and welcoming home for every pediatrician, ensuring that all members in every way have equal opportunity to participate, contribute, and thrive. From our seasoned mentors to our enthusiastic young pediatricians, every member will feel valued, inspired, and empowered to contribute their best to the Academy and to the children we serve. Together, we will strengthen communication across all branches, foster professional and academic growth, expand our digital initiatives, and deepen international collaborations.

We are more than an academic body; we are guardians of child health, advocates for their future, and custodians of a proud legacy. Let us embrace innovation, collaboration, and excellence, carrying forward the torch of those who came before us. Every effort we make today strengthens the health and well-being of children across India and fortifies our position as a global leader in pediatrics.

I extend my heartfelt wishes for good health, happiness, and fulfilment to all IAPians, their families, and, most importantly, the children whose lives we touch every day. Together, with determination, vision, and unity, we will honor the legacy of our predecessors, rise to new challenges, and create a brighter, healthier future for children everywhere.
